The Advanced Technique Camp, our first and longest running camp here at WCW, is designed for intermediate to advanced wrestlers who are looking to gain a deeper understanding of various techniques in the sport of wrestling. The best wrestlers in the world understand that building a strong foundation is key. Our goal is to strengthen that foundation and build up from there. All camps will place a heavy focus on breaking down technique successful at the highest levels, drilling live situations, learning from personal testimonies and motivational/mental training sessions, plus tailored Q&A sessions to refine technique specific to you.

2025 SESSION DATES AND INFORMATION

The Advanced Technique Camp is scheduled for August 1-5, 2025. Commuter options only for this year.

Check-in will be from 11:30-1:00pm on the 1st. Check-out will be at 12:00pm on the 5th. Details will be e-mailed out during the month of June, but please feel free to contact us with any questions at any time.

Technique camps are open to any and all wrestlers 12-18 years of age and currently in Jr High or High School. 

Please note: This is an advanced technique camp. 1-2 years of experience is highly recommended. 

REGISTRATION DETAILS

Resident (Overnight) - N/A
Commuter (Day Camper) - $625*

$100 non-refundable deposit is required to secure a spot (with registration form). The remaining balance is due 30 days prior to the camp start date.

Group Discounts: Bring a group of 10+ and receive $25 off of each wrestler. Group applications must be sent in the same envelope. 

*Please note: WCW operates in partnership with USA Wrestling and their membership program. All wrestlers without a current USA Wrestling membership card will incur an $8 fee for coverage during camp. This is the same card used to participate in USA sanctioned tournaments and events. Please note this will be secondary insurance for you in the event it is needed. usawmembership.com

LOCATION

The camp will be held at The Army and Navy Academy located in Carlsbad, California (1605 Carlsbad Blvd, Carlsbad, CA 92008). It is centered on a sixteen acre campus perfectly situated on the Pacific Ocean, thirty-five miles north of San Diego and eighty miles south of Los Angeles. map

At West Coast Wrestling Camps we will be surrounded by world class athletes. They train elite wrestlers every day and know what it takes to be a champion. They specialize in breaking down each technique to the level of every wrestler and are excellent with all ages. We are proud to say that all of the coaches not only excel in their sport, but also in class and character. (Please note that due to changing schedules, not all clinicians are guaranteed to be at each camp. The quality of the head clinicans will stay the same).

SAMPLE SCHEDULE

Wrestlers will be expected to be in attendance by 8:00am to join in the morning session, and are also welcome to come early for the optional morning beach workouts. Night sessions will end at 8:00pm with free wrestle going until 9:00pm. Wrestlers are free to leave anytime after 8:00pm.

Beach Workout - 6:00am (optional)
MMT - 8:00am
Session 1 - 8:30-10:30am
Team Competitions - 10:30-11:30am
Lunch - 12:00pm
Free Time - 1:00-3:00pm
Session 2 - 2:30-4:30pm
Dinner - 5:15pm
MMT - 6:00pm
Session 3 - 6:30-8:00pm
Free Wrestle - 8:00-9:00pm

Meals: The first meal served on day one will be dinner. Days 2-4: Lunch and dinner will be provided. Please note breakfast is not included for commuters, so please plan accordingly. No meals will be served on the final day.

Please note: The schedule is tentative and is subject to change.

WHAT TO BRING

Campers must bring daily:

  • Wrestling gear: Wrestling shoes, kneepads, headgear & mouthpiece (optional), etc.
  • Clothes: 3-5 extra sets of workout gear each day (t-shirts, shorts, socks), + sweat tops & bottoms, pants, etc 
  • Running shoes
  • Swimsuits and beach towels 
  • Personal items (bath towels, shower items, antibacterial soap, etc…)
  • Shower shoes (flip flops or waterproof sandals)
  • Refillable water bottle
  • Bug spray
  • Sunblock
  • Money for camp store (optional)
  • Defense foam or wipes
  • An attitude of a champion 

FYI: Please pack extra to ensure you have plenty. It is always better to have more than not enough!

MEALS AND CAMP STORE

The first meal served on day one will be dinner. Days 2-4: Lunch and dinner will be provided. Please note: Breakfast is not included for commuters, so please plan accordingly. No meals will be served on the final day.

We will have a camp store available that will have snacks, drinks, and gear. Pizza and additional food items will also be available after the evening session.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE

It is important to note that due to the high level of activity, we HIGHLY recommend to come to camp in good shape. While this is a technique camp where learning/improving technique is a priority, we will also place a large focus on physical activity to push the boundaries to gain a mental edge.

INSURANCE

WCW operates in partnership with USA Wrestling and their membership/insurance program. All wrestlers without a current USA Wrestling membership card will incur an $8 fee for coverage during camp. CANCELLATION POLICY

We know that not all things in life go as planned, so wrestlers may cancel at any time before 10 days prior to the camp start date. We will refund the amount paid minus the $100 non-refundable deposit. Cancellations within the 10 day window will be issued a credit for 50% of the total amount paid for future camps or clinics. No refunds or credits will be given for any reason on or after the camp start date.
